Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance has once again improved its sustainability performance. In the leading GRESB benchmark, fourteen of the funds and portfolios managed by Syntrus Achmea RE&F were awarded a Green Star. Two more than in the previous year.
Pensioenfonds Vervoer, a client of Syntrus Achmea RE&F, took first place in the category Office/Residential/Europe, giving it the title of Sector Leader 2017.
The GRESB Real Estate Assessment measures the sustainability performance of real estate funds and portfolios worldwide. This year, a record number of 850 funds and portfolios participated in the GRESB, which is short for Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark.
The Achmea Dutch Residential Fund of Syntrus Achmea RE&F made the biggest jump in 2017: the residential fund's overall score rose by 15 percent. The Achmea Dutch Health Care Property Fund also showed a significant improvement once again. Its overall score rose by 8.5 percent. This makes the fund the second-best healthcare real estate fund in Europe. The PVF Zakelijke Hypothekenfonds, which participated in the GRESB Debt Assessment for the second time, showed an improvement of 72 percent. This put the fund in third place in Europe.
"We are proud of having been able to improve our GRESB scores once again, especially after the major step we already made last year," says George Dröge, Chairman of the Board, Syntrus Achmea RE&F. "Sustainability is an extremely important theme for our clients and for our organisation. In the coming year, we will also do our utmost to further improve our performance."
