Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance welcomes a new client in the PVF Private Mortgage Fund. Smurfit Kappa Nederland Pension Fund will invest in Dutch residential mortgages through Syntrus Achmea.
“After a careful process, we have decided on this allocation to mortgages, partly because of the good return risk profile of this asset class”, says Steven Stoffer, chairman of the pension fund. “We prefer to work with an experienced investment manager with a good track record.”
With the joining of the Smurfit Kappa Nederland Pension Fund, the PVF Private Mortgage Fund has more than fifty participants. The fund’s assets will grow to EUR 10 billion this year. “Mortgages remain a very attractive asset class for institutional investors, the robust nature of which is once again proven in the current COVID-19 crisis”, says Daan van der Werf, Investor Relations Director at Syntrus Achmea.
In addition to a fund solution, Syntrus Achmea recently started offering a separate mortgages account. Institutional investors can use this to compose their own portfolio with a desired risk profile. Daan van der Werf: “We have noticed in the market that, in addition to a fund, there is a need for more bespoke solutions. We would like to meet that demand.”
