Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance received this year the highest scores in the UN PRI benchmark, which compares the performance of asset managers worldwide in the area of responsible Investing, twice. Syntrus Achmea received an A+, which is far above the market average, in the categories: ‘Strategy & Governance’ and ‘direct real estate’.
In the category ’indirect real estate’ the score improved from B to A, equal to the market average. Syntrus Achmea has been participating in the international benchmark since 2011. This year, the organisation was one of the first Dutch asset managers to sign the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) of the United Nations.
“These excellent scores underline the importance we attach to sustainable investment”, says Daan van der Werf, Director Investor Relations at Syntrus Achmea. “Our institutional clients demand a financial and social return on their investments. Sustainable investment that meets the highest standards fulfils that need.”
Last year, Syntrus Achmea introduced an ambitious ESG Strategy, partly to further improve performance in the field of sustainable investment. The twenty objectives in this strategy are based on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), which aim to combat poverty, inequality and further global warming, among other things.
